Product Description
 
Moisture measurements are obtained by following a simple test procedure:
  • Prepare and weigh the material sample using the electronic balance.
  • Place the sample in the Speedy vessel.
  • Add the reagent to the recess in the Speedy cap and seal the vessel.
  • Shake the Speedy to mix the reagent with the sample.
  • Read the moisture content directly from the integral gauge.

Knowledge of the moisture content of soil is crucial throughout geotechnical engineering practice. Engineers use the Speedy for field control of compacted earth embankments and other structures and to measure the water content of soil to ensure it is within specified ranges. The Speedy moisture tester is ideal for this, being accurate, robust and simple to use.
 
Aggregates, Sand and Concrete
 
The Moisture content of freshly mixed concrete affects the workability, blending, segregation, strength and drying rate of the finished product. The Speedy tester is an ideal on-site quality control tool. Moisture levels of aggregates and sand can be checked prior to use to ensure that the correct amount of water is added when mixing with cement. The moisture content of ready-mix cement concrete can also be checked, to ensure it is in specification.

Rechargeable or Disposable Battery Flashlights - Which One is Better? 
There's a lot of different flashlight to choose from.  So which one is the best for you?  Making
the correct decision will save you money in the long run. 
 
First, determine the purpose of the light. Will you be using it in situations for up close work or
far away lighting?  This will determine the brightness needed.
 
Jobs that require lighting to see small objects up close can utilize a lower candlepower light.
These lights are smaller and easy to work with.  Usually, they take a small battery.  Common
lights in this category would include pen lights, head lights, and any other aaa or aa light. 
 
Features for specific applications can include waterproof, hazard rated, or special features
like a clip for pocket storage or strap for helmet or head.
 
Once you've decided on a small or more powerful light, you'll need to decided on a rechargeable
or disposable battery flashlight.  Rechargeable flashlights have a higher intial cost but can save
money in the long run.  Rechargeable lights are much brighter than the alkaline battery models. 
You won't have to worry about buying new batteries every few days.  Alkaline batteries do have
an excellent storage life.  However, if your using your light every day the expense of replacement
