I am looking to use this in ~0degF conditions. What would temperature you estimate these heaters would keep a 20 lb tank? Additionally, how many watts are both heaters?

    10/23/2023, 12:33 PM

The heat pads are 50 watts.

As far as using the wraps at the 0⁰ indicated, and I’m assuming the air around the tank is the temperature, it is dependent on a number of factors including:

    Initial temperature of the tank

How full the tank is (as the temperature of the liquid of the tank is a factor of pressure and temperature)

How fast you are drawing off the gas

What we find is that in what I would term normal temperatures (around 50F), the wraps will increase temps about 3 – 5 ⁰ hour. This assumes the tank is not in a windy place and no gas is being released.

The temps you are talking about are really cold and frankly the wrap would not really heat the gas up, but would maintain the temperature. We have folks who use the wraps for ice fishing and we’ve been told they work well as long as you store the tank on the sunny side, put some type of insulator on the bottom and then also wrap the control valve as when the valve is turned on the sudden release of the gas can freeze the line.

I'm looking for one to prevent the tanks suppling an 8kW home generator from freezing. Would you recommend the high or low temp version for that?

    02/27/2023, 08:50 AM

That would depend on the climate you are using it in. For colder climates the 125 degree model is recommended

what is the thickness of the blanket? Is it waterproof or weatherproof?

    06/07/2022, 11:35 AM

    Approx 3/4 of an inch.

    Water resistance.

Can I get a heating pad for a 30 pound bottle? And what is the price for for it?

Will this work on a 30 pound tank?

    12/20/2021, 10:52 AM

Unfortunately we don't have a 30lb tank option. We have had a few customers buy 2 to make it work.
