    I recently purchased a replacement point for my Model # 78 and it came with the little shaft into which is screwed.

    Now I also need replacement points for my smaller Model # 79. Do these also come with the shaft ? In mine the old point is broken off and the threaded part stuck in the shaft, so the points alone would not help me.

    Sorry , 79's are point only, no shaft.

    Your 2.5 mm point is for Starrett 18-AA the small center punch not for the larger 18-B center punch.

    Can you tell me the thread of this replacement center punch tip? I have a Starrett punch but see that you can't cross reference so,,, let's see if the threads are the same?
