Can these candles be laid on their side in a PVC or styrene plumbing system or will they burn so hot to damage the pipe? Could a burning candle be laid on a metal jar lid to protect the plastic pipe? Do they emit a flame once lit, or just smoke?

Do not use smoke emitters near inflammable materials.
