How many tablets do you place in the toilet to test the side sewer?04/16/2021, 03:21 PM
Typically you want to use 6 or 7 just to make sure you have enough. Make sure to mix them up.

Our kitchen and two bathrooms butt up to the same wall and we always notice water on the floor in the kitchen and a hallway. There is no water in the cabinet below the kitchen sink so its coming under the cabinet area. Can we put these in a bucket of water and pour down the drain to see which drain the leak is coming from? I'd put a different color in each room to determine where leak was coming from...if we can how much of a tablet would we use? The flooring is vinyl so hopefully it would not permanently die it??01/25/2021, 10:59 AM
The dye does not stain. That sounds like a viable way to see where your probably may be. You won't need many tablets for the water you are pouring. Maybe 2 or 3. You have to mix them in so you may want to do them 1 at a time into the bucket of water until you get the desired color strength.

How many tablets to test for a leak in a 1000 gal septic system?08/14/2020, 02:11 PM
1 tablet per 60 gallons of water equals 1 ppm concentration in clear water. 17 tablets would give you roughly 1 ppm but there is no exact science to testing so as many as necessary to see the color.

I have a leak in my pind dam, I would like to use dye to find the section of the dam that the leak is coming from so I can seal that area. Will this work? Thank you07/21/2020, 02:07 PM
What I would do is mix the tablets in a 5 gallon bucket and slowly pour it in where you think the leak may be and watch for where the color goes.
