The Smoke Emitting Pen is truly an innovation for air balance professionals and anyone that needs just the right amount of test smoke when and where it is needed.
The Smoke Emitting Pen works like a mechanical pencil. A patented smoke-emitting wick is inserted into the pen, adjust the wick to provide 3/8" of exposed wick, light the wick with a match or lighter for a continuous trail of smoke that can be easily extinguished by simply replacing the protective cover.
The Smoke Emitting Pen can then be stored and re-used for the next test.
This non-toxic, cool burning emitter is ideal for air balancing, verifying ventilation, testing smoke alarms, tests for negative or positive pressure and the list goes on . . .
The HVAC Smoke Pen comes with 6 replacement wicks. 6 wicks will provide up to 3 hours of continuous smoke or 360 individual 30 second tests.

Am I correct in assuming that you have to light it with a match or cigarette lighter to get it to smoke?
If I use it to check for air infiltration in my house, I imagine I will want to "turn it on and off" as I move from point to point in my house. Would this require repeated snuffing and lighting?04/18/2022, 09:30 AMYou are correct in your assumption. Our smoke matches may be a good option for you because they come in a 25 pack or a Cirrus wind indicator may be a good option because it allows you to produce as much smoke as you want without lighting/snuffing.
